Higher Educational Learning Program

Our Mission

The Higher Educational Learning Program (H.E.L.P.) is aimed at assisting young men and women in maintaining their focus on education after high school, while introducing the youth to the needed tools that will assist them in making positive choices early in life.  These particular students are not only involved with the Running Rebels Community Organization, but are also encouraged to be involved with other positive activities within their community.  This will provide students with a full understanding of how giving back to the community will open doors for them.

Our Goals

Our goals for the participants of the program are aimed toward assisting the youth to accurately obtain realistic desires of attending college or pursuing other secondary education endeavors.


  • Must be a high school student
  • Needs to fill out intake packet and required list of "5 things to complete"
  • Must be able to complete a minimum of 50 hours of documented community service while in the program
  • Participate in once a month HELP training sessions (held the 1st Saturday of every month)

How To Apply

5 Steps Needed To Enter Program

  1. Obtain 3 official high school transcripts from your last high or current high school.
  2. Your last report card from the previous mark period or last semester attended high school.
  3. Student needs to have registered for the ACT, (if college bound) and needs to present documentation indicating upcoming test times and location.
  4. Essay including a brief description of "Why do you want to go to college" **(if not college bound, essay should include how H.E.L.P. can assist you in acquiring your goals)**
  5. Student should have a list of a minimum of 4 colleges that they wish to attend. **(if not college bound, student should list 4 potential goals they would like to accomplish within the year**)
